We ride from Torshavn to Velbastaðar on Berg Hestars good and calm icelandic horses. We ride on splendid bridle paths from Berg Hestar over the mountains to Velbastað. The trip will end at the home of Anna and Óli. A moment for food culture, socialising, conversation and an enjoyable meal.

Anna and Óli Rubeksen are farmers with a flock of mother sheep living freely in the mountains. In addition to their lifestyle they also offer fine dining with home cooked faroese meals in their own home.

A great opportunity to experience the faroese nature, icelandic horses in their right element and faroese inspired gastronomy in one riding tour.

We ride on ancient and newer riding paths. Close to birds, sheep and other wildlife. The tour ends with a culinary experience at Heimablídni on Velbastaður. The farmers, Anna and Óli, invite you to a traditional faroese inspired dinner.

Hosts:

Jacklin Durhuus and Leif Berg have for 20 years offered riding tours on the icelandic horse, in the faroese nature.

Anna og Óli are farmers and have approx. 150 sheep on the mountain Lambhaga nearby Velbastaður. They invite you home for dinner, and emphasize using goods from their farm and  local goods.

It can’t get more sustainable.”
